Greyville racecourse lies just in from the beach and the city, at the foot of the Berea. Every year it hosts Africa’s premier equine event, the Durban July Handicap. The tangible build-up of tension, known as July fever, takes hold of the city every year in late May until the big day answers the question sangomas, computers and tipsters have long been debating the name of the winner!!
