As we look back over the last 11 years, from when we started our timeshare business, we are amazed at what has been achieved. The years have passed so quickly, and we will forever be grateful to our associates, colleagues and clients who gave us support and advice when we most needed it.
Rod retired from his job as a successful financial advisor at the Old Mutual after 22 years of service. We had just lost our younger son and we needed change. After enjoying our timeshare here in South Africa, and with overseas exchanges, we knew that timeshare was our interest.
Thinking that there was not a lot to timeshare, we jumped in at the deep end, and boy, did we have a wake up call. Somehow, we managed to survive the early years.
Today, we know, that timeshare, particularly resales, is a tough and intricate business, but if one can get past the "complicated fog" of details, the benefits to be derived are tremendous. We try as hard as we can to find out firstly what a buyer has in mind, only then do we try to sell to meet clear cut objectives, which have been agreed with our clients.
Our business is largely directed to meeting the challenge of the Kwa Zulu Natal market, with the majority of our sales being from resorts in the Drakensberg. But, having said that, we have travelled much of South Africa, staying in, and assessing, the various resorts and points clubs. This gave us real insight to the experience each buyer may expect, and helps us when analysing the different requirements of buyers. In the resale timeshare market, we are able to profile each buyer as an individual, and offer them the specific timeshare to suit their needs.
We run a properly constituted Trust account with Fidelity cover as members of the Estate Agency Affairds Board and are members of VOASA - the timeshare ethics board.
